Who uses blogger anymore

Last time I blogged was 4 years ago. When I was still a young and naïve 1st year with no idea what vet school had in store for me.

I am now a 4th year coming to the end of the teaching semester, soon to be going into final year prep (the bit of vet school where you transition from a vet student that goes to lectures and practicals, to a vet student who goes onto clinics and gets to actually interact with patients and clients).  Oh how time flies!

I've also transitioned from "I'm gonna blog about my life" to "lol I'm just gonna reblog and retweet memes"

Who knows whether I'll ever pick up my blogging habit again. So here's me signing off, tata for now!

Monthsary

Yay it's friday! :D

Can't believe it's already been a month since I got here! Time flies when you're not studying enjoying yourself

Oh and! I started my vet blog! It's less formal and just casual posts about my day to day life as a vet student. http://dickvetdiaries.tumblr.com  Check it out! x

Roll on 3rd week!

Hola!

Can you guess what animal this is? :D (answer below)

Anyways! Greetings lovely people. I survived 2nd week with NOT TOO MUCH of moaning and complaining. Fell pretty sick in the middle of the week and just stayed home in my pjs being disgusting. Came back to class and was told we had to do a histology and anatomy lab book. Hmm. Seems pretty alright. Guess you still get some sort of homework in university so yeah!

Freaked out a little (like for 2 days straight -_-) cause I had completely no idea what to do for my histology lab book :( PLUS! We were supposed to draw the structures we saw through the microscope and I'm just like whert. I'm absolutely shite in drawing -_- But honestly, I wished I wasn't THAT stressed out about the lab book, cause during my practical, I just sat in front of the microscope, isolated myself from my friends and just stoned for 3 hours. Like a cat, when it's about to die, it'll just isolate itself, and die. Yup, sounds like me and my social withdrawal that day.

Managed to get a few pictures through the microscope though. Gotta go back and take some more pictures cause I ran out of time, cause I spent most of it WORRYING AND STONING.
Elastin in the artery of a pig

Collagen in the artery of a pig

Both in different stains but aren't they just gorgeous :3 Histology is fine, I just really hate drawing. I enjoy doing assignments if I have the time cause I love putting effort into something and having that "proud feel" afterwards heh

On Saturday, Waiyin and I went to get some stuff on Princes Street (main shopping street in Edinburgh) and we got hungry so we went to Wetherspoon! (p/s: I absolutely love Wetherspoon)

They get the BEST locations. Seriously. Ugh so beautiful! This place was hugeee, and super packed with people, partially cause the Ryder Cup (golf) was on.

Miao.

Another reason I love love LOVE Wetherspoon is cause of their super awesome and reasonably priced food. I was still coughing with phlegm but I was like, screw it. I really need my fix of awesome pub food.

LOOK. Onion rings with ACTUAL onions in them. Was craving proper onion rings back in Malaysia for 2 months wei, FINALLYYYY. Beer battered onion rings are like the best thing ever.

SO! All in all I'm pretty glad how this weekend turned out :) Got work done, cleaned my room, cleaned myself, all is good! I shall end this post now with my intentionally misaligned kappa maki. DON'T LAUGH.

oh, and it was a dog skull :)

BYE!

Ciao from beautiful Edinburgh!

Hello! So it's 1:15 am and I have "napped" from 7-11pm therefore I am super alert at the moment o_o

This is my second week in Scotland and my second week in vet school! Everything's been going great for me lately but unfortunately I've got a really bad cold :( So I can't properly enjoy the whole "yay, I'm finally in vet school" feel

Just a short picture update to let you guys know what I've been up to!

My vet friends and I baked a lot of cookies for the World Rhino Day bake sale in my school on Monday! Oh and I've also settled in pretty well in this lovely newly built university residence and have met pretty cool flatmates, so all is well! Of course, this is after the whole freshers week fiasco when my boxes didn't arrive when it should, living on the highest floor with a non-functional elevator, my never ending story with my stupid toenail etc. Ugh freshers week was just a nightmare

Me and a couple of friends also went for the rifle club taster! It was really fun and I'm now a member :3 heh! Although this wasn't what I had in mind for a university sports activity :( I've always wanted to try on a new team sport (almost signed up for roller hockey) but 1. I don't know how to roller blade 2. the roller hockey court is too far away :( Plus, when the real hardcore studying starts kicking in, I doubt I'd have the time to handle my bruises and aching while slaving away at my desk.

Apparently this is "not bad" for a first timer, considering the target was 18m away hahahah. Good fun good fun! And I never knew there was so much to this sport apart from accuracy, for example, different breathing movements, position of elbow etc

Amazing view while walking back from the farm(where we do our cattle practicals at) I'm sorry this photo does not do Langhill any justice. This is one of those things where you "have to be there to see it" :) Don't worry! I'll be here for another 5 years so come visit me!

I guess this is it from me today. I have 2 lectures on JUST enzymes back to back tomorrow and a dog skull practical. My days are usually 9-5 everyday except for Wednesdays but I guess it's just the introductory weeks so my Thursdays are a bit more chilled :P Also, I'm trying to get into the routine of studying every night but I guess I'm still a bit unsure on WHAT I'm supposed to be studying :/ Lecturers always seem to be saying "it's okay, it'll be much clearer after you do the practical", boy I hope they're right :/

The bus commute to uni everyday is around 30-45 minutes, but at least I get a lovely view everyday :)
P/s: the white fluffy blobs are grazing sheep heh

Officially a dick vet student.

Goodnight lovelies!

Easy-Bake Cupcakes

Hello!

2nd post in a week. SHOCKING. I'd probably go on a blogging binge, and just drop blogger for 3 months straight.

Yesterday I met up with Aunty Jessica, my Cosmotots mentor and she gave me a box of easy-bake cupcakes!

So cute right! And I was gonna meet up with her today with some other classmates and Aunty Sandra so I thought I'd bake it for them!

Everything was ready, all you had to do was mix em all together and wait for it to bake. It was so so easy!

The one on the bottom left is the cacat one cause I was too greedy :(

The finished product! :)) Sorry for the slanted photos. I'm not a good camera person -_-"

Short post because I have a driving lesson at 7am tomorrow. And probably for the rest of the week :( ARGH. Oh! My iPod is coming soon! At least that's something to look forward to, heh.

Goodnight, love! x

My third "summer"

Hello my sad abandoned blog. Mama's back.

So, I have been home in Malaysia for a month now! And I can honestly say I have done nothing productive so far. Everyday has been a blur for me because I spend so much time lazing around, doing nothing or just going out with friends. Oh! But I have been going for driving lessons. (Yes, I am 20 and I still don't have my provincial licence)

Two weeks back, I went out with Mabe and Miyo to Ikea because I was craving Ikea meatballs, and I convinced both of them that Ikea meatballs were the best and I was determined to finish 20 meatballs on my own. Big mistake. They tasted horrible. Dry and unappetising *shivers*. The last time I had Ikea meatballs in Malaysia was 2 years ago, so I guess things have changed since then, heh.

After lunch together, Miyo and I went hunting for a plant for her study table. What an adventure. We spent an hour finding the perfect plant in Ikea that was perfect sized, not oddly shaped and not wilting. I think all the couples and families that were shopping in that area thought we were crazy. Well, I would have thought so at least.

A week ago during the Raya break, I went down to Malacca to visit my relatives and we went on a crazy food binge. Needless to say I came back with a lot of pimples and a 2-months-old-pregnant-with-food-belly.

Satay celup is the best. Fight me.

Although I have to admit satay celup or "lok lok" can be unsanitary. But! I have 2 out of 12 months to enjoy proper Malaysian food so.. I was willing to suffer 3 days of food poisoning for that 2 hours of enjoyment. (p/s: I did not get sick after that THANKFULLY)

I also bought myself some bows from Jonker Street, heh :) I always fail to convince myself I have too many ribbons & bows -_-

Today! Miyo and I went to the Bookfest @ KLCC and spent 3 hours looking at stationery. What is life.

Bought a tearable Rilakkuma notebook with really adorable pages :3 and a Rilakkuma bento box that came with Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori bento boxes as well! And if you thought this wasn't bad enough, I carried a Kiiroitori plush around the exhibition hall for 30 minutes deciding whether I was crazy enough to pay RM70 for a pillow.

I guess I wasn't that crazy, YET. But deep down I really wanted it u_u

Anyways, that's all for tonight.  Goodnight my lovely pumpernickels

Mama Foo and Korean Cosmetics

Hello my darlings! Eeyer, sound so bimbo.

Before I start off my post, just wanna wish my mama HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Even if your birthday is already over in Malaysia :( It hasn't ended here! 3 more hours heh :)

Papi, mama and I back in 2012 at St Annes Church, Penang. Our yearly family trip! Love you and miss you so much mama, may you always be so young and beautiful :)

Lately I've discovered this really awesome online shop that sells Korean cosmetics, from makeup to moisturisers to masks, they have it! This site carries a lot of popular Korean brands that you get from Malaysia as well, Laneige, Etude House, Nature Republic, Skin Food just to name a few :)

Back home, I never really appreciated/tried out any of these products (except Laneige) and I always took them for granted till I realised how hard it was to get ANY asian products here! I mean it's easier in the states because they have skin food and japanese makeup stores and stuff but not here :( Well there is one in London's Chinatown, but they're a total rip-off I swear. Too pricey. Compared to the brands they have here in UK, I would prefer Asian products and lets just say I trust Korean products a lot, but I wasn't willing to pay the prices up in London

OKAY! So back to this website. Few months ago was the first time I ordered from them.  I only got this aloe vera gel because it was getting such good reviews and I love the smell of aloe. So I gave it a try! (Plus it was very cheap heh)

The only downside of this is that most the instructions are in Korean.
When I first got this package in the mail, I was so surprised to find that the "shipping address" was no where in the UK. They deliver directly from their headquarters in South Korea!  Which I think is super amazing.  The BEST PART IS..

FREE DELIVERY!

Which I find is super amazing because the aloe was only £5. PLUS! They gave me free samples too!

Which was craaaazy generous of them!

And today I received 2 more packages from them! (heh, there was a sale and I couldn't resist) Oh! And did I mention, that they have sales/offers from time to time for certain brands and when they do, sometimes its even cheaper than Malaysia! (even after conversion)

SEE! Shipped from Koreaaa :)

Blade it open like how you would blade open the heart of your enemies

Bubble wrap yay!

I swear by Laneige Water Bank range. The smell is heavenly and its so gentle to your skin.  And it is really really moisturising to the skin! It really feels like snow, la neige is French for snow :)

These were the other 2 that I bought! And it was seriously cheaper than if I got it back home. So.. my mama let me buy it here :3 double yay!

The water sleeping pack is seriously amazing. It really does what it says "brightening and moisturising".  My mum initially got me this because it was some award winning Asian product and my mum cannot say no to a good promoter who compliments her, but I never really paid attention to it.  Only used it when I wanted to pamper myself after a stressful day.  But yesterday! I closely examined(lol) my face before I put the mask on, and this morning after I washed it off, my face looked much much fairer and brighter! :3 But my dark circles were really dark because I'm still sick :( So it really stood out.

I also got this as a free sample! (it actually is very small, look how big my thumb looks)
I have no idea how to use this tomato.

YAY FREE CLAY! So cute wei the packaging! :3

And I got another 2 more samples of BB cream :) So yeah! Very "dai" as we Malaysians would say :3

If there are any boys out there reading this, no we do not simply take tomato, mud and snow to rub all over our faces.  If you guys want to try, go ahead.  I strongly recommend using durians

ALSO! I GAINED A LOT OF BUBBLE WRAP IN THE PROCESS HEHEHE

I love the sound of bubble wrap, the sweet sound of fracture on my enemies spine.

Goodnight x

Yellow yellow dirty fellow

Yellow my fellow bloggers and bloggettes!

Random post because nothing interesting has been happening lately.  Well except me catching a cold but it doesn't seem very interesting to post about my bin loads of tissues and germs.  Wait, to clarify things :

Cold(to the people in UK) : sore throat, runny nose and maybe sometimes a slight fever
Cold(taught to me by my family) : runny/stuffy nose = flu (apparently it's very inaccurate)

MY LIFE IS A LIE.

I've got the UK version of the cold by the way.

Because of this annoying son of a Mumford cold, I've restricted myself to a very limited diet.

Basically all I've eaten for the past few days are porridge (the Malaysian rice porridge, not the "UK" oats porridge), cereal, jam sandwiches and a couple of fruits.

Bleh, I actually have no idea where this was going.  I just wanted to make a post of yellow things :3

Here it goes!

Curse asymmetric sandwiches! Was so annoyed when I was eating this, I'm not OCD, just weird.

Jam sandwiches :)

I'm yellow too!

Okay that's all I've got ._. Yea, that was a fail u_u I swear, I could do with a little bit more artistic talent/creativity. I had this whole yellow-item-collage in my head that I could have done but meh.

Oh well.

Till next time my pretty pumpkin people! Keep fighting!

Of lunch boxes and desktops

Hello bloggers and bloggettes

So for the past 2 weekends, I've been off gallivanting round London with lovely human friends. And because I'm more of a bedtime blogger, I've put off this post too late into the night and now I have to sleep because I'm breaking out more than a hormonal teenager.

SO! I'm just gonna show you this awesome lunch box I bought yesterday!

Adorable huh! Got it from a really awesome store in London with other cute stuff I wish to own in the future (if my father printed money)

Also! I finally got to check out Japan Centre in Piccadilly and bought this adorable sauce container for my bento lunch!

Finally! No more sauce-less lunches!

Anyways, time for bed! :)
