Back in chilly London

Rila had a seat all for himself on the plane

Note that my previous post was my first and last post in Malaysia. oops

So hello again long abandoned blog that I have not forgotten (but was simply just too lazy too update)

Arrived yesterday in London with a cold I brought along from Malaysia, and sat through 13 hours of a surprisingly enjoyable plane trip with my best friend Rila.  The plane ride was super awesome because I was seating in those two seated isles, PRAYING that I would get a nice lady to sit beside me instead of a snoring, loud man. BUT TO MY SURPRISE, the person next to me was a no-show. WHICH MEANS. I GOT TWO SEATS TO MYSELF! Which was super awesome cause it was like I had a private row all to myself and it felt like I was in business class when actually two economy seats were more comfortable for me :P Well, I can't really compare because I've never flown business, and I was not one of the fortunate few unlike my friends who got "upgraded to business"

Come to think of it, my plane ride was neutral actually. On one hand, I had 2 seats to myself (yay), on the other hand, my nose was leaking like a tap. And I was just blowing my nose until my face got all red and my nose all sore.  I was really glad no one turned up though because I was so afraid of spreading my germs to the person next to me :( But well, I felt sorry for whoever who sat near by as well.  At the end of my journey, I've had 2 bags filled with icky tissue paper, drank at least 15 cups of water (cause I kept ringing the button for water) and watched 2 and a half movies! Yay! Well, not so yay, cause I was supposed to be writing my personal statement, which mind you, I DID KAY. But not to the extent to consider my progress .. satisfying enough for me.  But what could I do, I was already feeling so terrible, no need to remind myself of what a horrible writer I am, or that I take ages to form a fluent sentence coherent to the previous one.

So the movies I watched was The Internship, Hangover III, and 3/4 of The Great Gatsby.  Internship was.. predictable, it was funny at some parts but not throughout. Hangover was.. like every other hangover movie, shit happens, they try to rectify it, causes an even bigger blunder, tries to rectify it, saves the day in the end.  But I like Hangover, cause it always reminds me to be thankful for what I have and glad that I'm not one of those guys.

The Great Gatsby? OHHH, it was justtttt painful. Absolutely painful. Worst that hangover's "painful" cause this isn't just, spend a night in Vegas, get beat up real bad those kinda things, no.  This movie stirs up so much emotion in you, I just can't.  There's just too much that's going on that makes me wanna rip the hair from my head and go WHY. WHY. WHY. Oh and I didn't finish the movie on the plane cause there wasn't enough time, but trust me, it was the first thing I did when I got home.  I didn't even eat or unpack, I just went straight to streaming the movie off the internet.

When I was watching Gatsby, I admittedly got confused with some of the characters.  Daisy for example, I didn't know how to feel.  Should I feel sorry for her? Should I feel angry at her? It was just.. painful to watch.  Until I got home and googled the character and analysis, and went YESS! I wasn't the only one who thought Daisy is a materialistic, self-centered, good for nothing piece of shittake mushroom.

And also, why were there rap music in the 1920's.  That I didn't understand.  I'm pretty sure Jay-Z wasn't alive in 1920, probably neither were his parents.  Apart from that, amazing.  The way Leonardo di Caprio played Gatsby, PERFECT. TO THE CORE. He was so good, and he really made me wonder what it's like to love so deeply, and care for a person so much.  I admit I didn't read the book, but from the book's summaries and what I hear from my friends, the movie was pretty accurate.

Well that's it from me today.  I'm gonna go 9GAG now while I still can, until my head starts hurting from the stupid cold I have.  Seriously, how am I gonna get better in this horrid weather.  Oh London, spare me.

I was bored and there was an app :P
