Oovoo date with my girlies!

Brought my laptop to school and Oovoo-ed Mabe and Miyo at one of the corridors in college :DD

Even though I had to carry my heavy laptop (It's heavy cause it has dual protection -__-) all the way to college and back, and got a bruise on my hip cause I leaned my laptop against it all the way home, IT WAS SO WORTH IT <3!

HAHAHAHAH MIYO SO CUTE :P

*jealous

Then they went busy on their phones ): Which reminds me! I've got no one to text u__u Which is pretty sad cause I have like 2500 free texts, and I text on average, 10 messages per week..? -___-

BUT NONE THE LESS <3 They make me wanna go home sooner! ): Miss them so so much, why didn't I just bring them along to do their A-levels here! Then I wouldn't have such a hard time fitting in here ): *sighs

18, but some things just never change (:

PRE-NOTIFICATION : I'm sorry I'm about to sound like a total brat, either being too whiny or too braggy, it's just cause I went through one of the roughest days in this year ): If you can't help but roll your eyes whilst reading this post, just do yourself a favour and stop reading.

This is me, trying to sign up for a Tesco Clubcard on 20th May :P

I know, why would I EVER need a Tesco Clubcard, it's not like I cook, or CAN COOK, for that matter -__- So the possibility of me buying groceries are like uhhh, never. And yes I know Tesco has other things than just groceries.

BUT ANYWAYS! Just wanted one cause, I want one!

This is my parents attempt to celebrate my birthday with me (':
It was kinda sad, cause I couldn't blow out the "traditional candle" that I blew out ever since I was a wee one ): My dad had to blow it out, on my behalf ):

My birthday this year was probably one of my most miserable ones :/ Yeah, birthdays are not supposed to be miserable! It's the day, every girl feels like a princess, and every boy feels like a.. Actually I don't know how guys are supposed to feel :/

But every birthday, I feel like a princess ): Guess I'm just very fortunate to be pampered like that every year ):

This birthday, I felt extra homesick, and the funny thing is, I've never felt homesick when I came to UK. It was pretty much, smooth sailing. I SAID PRETTY MUCH OKAY!

But none the less, my friends surprised me in school with a home-made cake and a birthday song (: (: Sweet Re Gin and Julius baked it for me! And everyone played along (: Even Elisa tricked me into teaching her maths so I wouldn't leave the cafeteria (:

It was a very sweet gesture (: (: And I know I shouldn't be complaining, but I really felt empty inside ): All I could think of is my family ): I really really missed them, and not to mention my friends back home ):

Don't get me wrong! The whole surprise was awesome (: But then after everyone grabbed a piece of cake and left, that empty feeling came flooding back again ): Gah, it's so hard to describe the bitter-sweet feeling ):

Oh and I don't feel the "joy" of being 18 :/ I tried to make life hard for my friends and told Naomi that "we're one step closer to death" then she replied "we've been a step closer to death ever since we were born" HAHA! So true (: Ahh, I can always count on my friends to cheer me up (':

Speaking of irreplaceables (': A special thank you to all my friends who went the extra mile to make me happy on my birthday (: (: Lovelies like Ling Hong calling me at 12am and we ended up chatting till almost an hour past 12! Mind you, she lives in a dorm :x

Wei wei with her super sweet Skype photo and message!! (: (:

Miyo (': and her super adorable, super thoughtful letter! <3 Recognized the hand writing straight away!

And all my friends who personally wished me in Whatsapp without the help of Facebook's "write on this fella's wall because it's her birthday" tool -__- All the messages made me really really happy (:

These are the simple reasons that get me through the day (': They just make me feel so loved, even though they could be half way across the world, they never fail to make me smile (:

TAKE THAT, TESCO!!

Random thought : If ever in doubt, always, play the clueless Asian ;)

Money Origami, Hot Chocolate and History

YAY :D I FINALLY LEARNT HOW TO DO ORIGAMI WITHOUT TEARING THE PAPER :DDDD

Okay maybe cause it was pretty thick, but still, I hardly ever finish the origamis I start out to learn -___- last year I remember my classmate Jia Zhen spent 1 hour teaching me how to fold a pterodactyl -__- and I didn't even make it half way, so he gave me his. HAHAHA

Total amount : RM 150 :P

Total amount : GBP 50 = RM 250
Spent the WHOLE MORNING making this -____-

Yay hot chocolate! The Milo substitute for me ):
It looks better than it tastes, and for me, Milo tastes better :/ Maybe cause I don't add milk :x So yeah :/

PSST! Check out my new red mug! :P bought it for 57p in Tesco. YUP! 57P!! :D It's very plain so I purposely bought red so I could draw on it later ;)

Sigh ): I've got History AS exams on Tuesday, so ):

Back to Italy! ):

Distractions

Was doing last revision for economics for tomorrow, when I got distracted ): By yummy (over-sweetened) biscuits :x So I created a distraction, FROM a distraction :P

By doodling, I was distracted. But IN THE LONG RUN, after covering my cookie jar with another distraction, it will be a net welfare gain. Cause negative distraction + negative distraction automatically cancels itself out :P

Okay I totally made that up. But it was a good try ):

Sigh, I know this batch of doodles suck ): Cause I got the eyes a bit too huge and creepy plus the colours were all messed up ): LACK OF SCARCE RESOURCES. I.e. basic Sharpie colours ): Meh!

This was around August 2011? See the difference when you have smaller eyes and less "pastel" colours! Okay I admit both kinda suck. Cause I'm too lazy to practice and I have no God given talent in arts in the first place :P

Artwork by my 12 year old sister.

Amazing huh? (: Realized this isn't the first time I'm showcasing my sister's work on my blog :/ So, sis, you owe me! :P Still never fails to astound me how she gave up on it so quickly. She could have been even better :/

I miss normal basic colours :x

The rose I made last week in the library when I was bored! And was too lazy to study :PP

Don't you just love the ladybug! :D

Last paper of the week tomorrow! (: Bring it!

Of poetry, quadrilaterals and food.

Saw this 9gag post just now and wanted to share it on my blog!

I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.
I thought it was really good, then again, my standards are pretty low. If you can rhyme it, I will buy it. Haha!

But one thing that amazed me was that the cartoonist really made the poem come to life, I mean, I was about to go to sleep reading 9gag till I came across this. And for like the first time in, ever, I actually read a long worded post, till the end :x Usually I just whizz on by looking for "fail" photos or dumb cats doing dumb cat stuff or patronizing Asian posts.

I really really love the way the cartoonist made it fit in (well sort of) with all the events that was going on in the whole story line. And I'm really glad he decided to do this cause if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have known the existence of this poem, let alone the poet.

Then I did a little background search on this poem and the poet, what it's underlying meaning was and what drove him to wrote it. And I was really impressed by his style of writing (: Though it's a bit, or in this case, very dark but it reflects the "never give up, never give in" attitude, which really motivates me, and it reminded me of MCR! Which is one of the reasons I am still relatively sane today (: They've inspired me through their dark elements in their music, that life is not worth living if you constantly find faults in which your life could be better. Sure, it's good to reflect once in a while and see ways that you can improve, but if you do it all the time, you just end up getting too self-conscious and uptight. And as cheesy and cliché as this sounds, (I warn you in advance), Gerard Way has thought me to never give up on life. (:

*crowd jeers and boo-s and fat guy from the audience shouts CHEE-SYYY*.

You don't have to read all the words, but I "STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO DO SO" *another stupid phrase teachers say to make you feel bad"

Example:
Student : Do we have to write the essay on "How jet skiing reduces infertility?"
Teacher : No, you don't have to. But I would STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO DO SO.

*flips table*

Nah honestly, the main point of that super long "story-of-my-life" photo, is that Gerard Way KNEW what it's like to be a reject from society and thats what inspired him to write the awesome music I worship (: *not in a religious or satanic kind of way of course* I'm sure they're other singers out there who struggled with their lives, maybe some even worse than Gerard's. I really respect and admire their courage, and they're my role models (: Not to be a singer, duh -__-, to actually work hard towards what I hope to be in the future, and not settle for some dumbass job society expects me to take on.

Sorry for this weird post, I took a lot of time and effort trying to phrase it in a way that doesn't make me sound like a total artsy fartsy douchebag. Apparently, I failed.

##############################################################

Enough cheesy wheezy mushy stuff, time to hear about my day!

*groans*

I finished my C1 exam today! :D

And I GUARANTEE YOU, everyone who did the C1 paper would agree than question 9e = *jumps off a cliff*

Okay, for the few exceptional "know-it-alls" who managed to finish the damn question in 27.5 seconds. -rolls eyes-

But the exciting bit was what happened BEFORE the paper. Paper starts at 9am, I woke up at 8.30, panicked, and called a cab ;_: Cab = there goes my lunch money for the rest of the week.

*sighs* And cause I was busy warfing down my breakfast (Heh, I used warfing again), and the fact that I was so nervous for my C1, I didn't really put in effort to start a conversation with the cab driver :/ AND AS A RESULT, he charged me more than what I usually pay, IF I had made a conversation with him, I COULD HAVE GOTTEN A DISCOUNT.

Okay I over react, he charged me 20p extra. BUT STILL! I could have SAVED, that 20p, went back to Malaysia, converted it, and it could have gotten me... half a bag of Roller Coaster. TSK!

########################################################

Lastly, you KNOW you're food deprived, when you look at this, decide to take a photo, because you just feel too damn happy.

Joel Madden

When I was in Secondary 2/3, I vaguely remember I had a crush on the lead singer of Good Charlotte :x I mean, whats there NOT to like about him?! He sings pretty well (I guess), and basically Good Charlotte rocked my world then (: I love love LOVED their music back then, especially Good Morning, Revival and Chronicles of Life and Death. SO GOOD.

In my opinion that was the best I've ever seen them (: In both albums, EQUALLY GOOD! (:

Then after a while I think the craze ended :/ Until lately when I heard their relatively new song from their Cardiology album on the radio :x Oh I also heard "Like it's her birthday" or something like that on the radio back home, and I recognized his voice, but it was so MEHHH, I didn't even bother looking it up :/

Then like a week ago, their song has been playing over and over again so I couldn't help but look it up. AND I WAS SO STUNNED WHEN I WATCHED THE VIDEO. Like WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!

Okay basically, its a "game show themed" music video based on the Nickelodeon game show family double dare or something like that :/ I remember watching it as a kid at wei wei's house but now this video just JOGGED my memory.

And I was trying SO HARD, to find Joel Madden in the vid. Till I saw this really corny guy with a toupee with BUTT loads of tattoo, and I was like, shit -__- Please don't tell me it's him. UNFORTUNATELY, IT WAS -___- I couldn't find a photo on google images, so I decided to just take a Screen shot, so yea SORRY IT'S SO BLURRY. But here it is.

DA HECK WAS HE THINKING!? I mean, I know its super hilarious and all, the video concept was PRETTY original and unexpected. But SERIOUSLY?! WHAT HAPPENED?! Okay, maybe I'm overreacting, it's just one video, manda, he's still the same old bad boy (:

NO.

I mean like, okay, usually girls like funny guys, who aren't afraid to make themselves look like an idiot. But he's just not one of themmm DDD: I mean, people like, Carlos Pena, yea I would totally love to see his cool side since he always shows his funny, crazy side (: But when a "cool guy" goes from cool to funny, it just becomes, lame. -__- He was someone I really looked up to kay ):

AWWH SHO CUTEEEE LAH CARLOS :PP

Oh and I've heard some the songs from their album, -shakes head- Okay maybe they have good songs, but I just couldn't be bothered to keep searching ): My heart just died after seeing him lose his "cool" ):

I MISS THE DAYS WHEN THEY USED TO MAKE REBELLIOUS SONGS, ABOUT TEEN ANGST AND

Oh wait, I think I'm thinking of My Chemical Romance now -__-

Come to think of it, only in the "earlier" days they sang mostly bout "non-party" songs which I absolutely love. Dance Floor Anthem, and Keep Your Hands Off My Girl is very "party-ish" already ): The River was very good, and so was The Anthem ): Sigh.

WHAT HAPPENED LAH D: Why did you have to grow out of the "songs that will appeal to teenagers" phase ): Maybe that's why I love My Chemical Romance (: But I really dislike their "NANANA" song -__- *sighs* Yea I know I'm being a hypocrite saying that I hate songs that go on the lines of "WHOOO PARTAYYY" or "I WANT YOU TO BE MAH GIRLLL". Since that's probably what Big Time Rush base their songs most on :/

BUT THEY'RE JUST TOO ADORABLEEEEE (:

Seriously, Amanda? Liking a boy band JUST cause they're cute, and NOTHING ELSE? That's low.

):

Sigh, I just wish I could find a band that doesn't sing "stereotypical" songs ): Someone recommend me songs that have nothing to do with "party, girls or being in love" please? ): SO FED UP.

Oh well, once again, I present to you, the Joel Madden I fell in love with ):

Tattoo, Bad boy, Swag, Sexy ):

After a Shower

What do you do if you're nervous for an exam tomorrow?
Take photos of yourself.

Amanda's logic.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! (:

This is probably the first Mother's Day away from my mum ):

Well it's a first for everything this year :/ First Chinese New Year, First Pa's birthday, Ally's birthday, Mum's birthday, and soon, my birthday ): THE LIST IS ENDLESS! )':

But for now, I'm gonna make the most of the time I have here to learn and experience being away from home for so long (:

Skype call - "Mother's Day Special" (:

I know I look so cheeky grinning on the right bottom corner :P

Asked my mum to pose "bored", this is her "bored" look. *SIGHS* :P

^A^v

HAI RILA, MEET RILA!

LOVE YOU, MUMMY! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY (:

Short post cause I'm hungry :x

Jaesy Rae (:

Yup, your eyes do not deceive you. It is satay.
Unfortunately it looks better than it tastes :/ My host parents decided to "microwave" the frozen satay and for the "kacang kua" they used.. ready? *dromrolls*

Peanut butter. CHUNKY peanut butter.

I miss home ): BRING ME HOME D':

Was so bored studying Economics yesterday for today's mock, I decided to follow the 9gag post and make roses! (: SUI BO? (pretty or not in Hokkien) :P Sadly I couldn't find my scissors (cause I bet someone mistakenly took mine and got lazy to say sorry so they decided to keep it instead). So I had to use cosmetic scissors :/ Not like plastic surgery kinda scissors, but the one in the picture :x Don't know what are those called.

Was walking back home when I saw snow by the fountain! :O Which is pretty unlikely since.. It's like summer now -__- Must be foam :P But it still looked really like snow!

The dual mixture of coloured leaves outside my college! (: Pretty aint it!

Pen and Paper

As promised! Here are some photos from my Duke of Edinburgh expedition! (:

First of, let me give you a mental picture of the whole expedition (:
It rained for the whole 3 days we were there, and we had A FEW HOURS, where it didn't rain. But like 70% of the time, it was either raining : Pouring and drizzling :/

Which made the grounds we tracked on very muddy and slippery. Especially inside the forests where it was up-hill, it was pretty hard :/ But surprising enough, the harder part was going down-hill, cause that would be when you might slip, fall and die.

Up-hill was just tiring (:

Next, the mud, the rain and the cold ( 6 degrees at night ) was the relatively easy part. IMO.

Let's just say camp brings out the ugly in everyone. And I'm not talking bout appearance. I admit I was so cranky most of the time, I just wanted to be alone. But that wasn't the main reason.

OKAYYYY ENOUGH OF THAT (:

Here are some photos from my friend Pui Yi's phone! For an iPhone, it takes GORGEOUS PHOTOS! Well, her photography skills are chun-ted to begin with! So yeah (: And the scenery definitely made it easier (:

What these photos lack is the scenery in the forest, which IMO, was much prettier ;) but it was so slippery and muddy it would be too dangerous to stop for a "photo" break.

At some point, there was this bridge over a stream we had to cross, and it was, so scenic! I really felt I was hiking in a painting :P

I didn't take my phone with me cause I was annoyed at, some stuff. But the next time I go, DEFINITELY bringing it with me!! (:

Had to hike through the forests to get to see these scenes ;) So ENJOY! And be thankful you did not have to go through excruciating tiredness to see this! (:

I present to you! The UK countryside (:

While walking through this path, we were like daring each other to touch the electrical fence, JUST TO SEE WHETHER IT WAS ACTIVATED :P

Our campsite in the evening (: Breath-taking eh? (:

And we went indoor rock climbing on the second day! (: The angmoh staff there was SO DAMN ADORABLE <3 English guys :3

There were 3 walls we could try out, one was not like the one in the picture, it was more of the artificial rock one where it had ledges and stuff, which was pretty tough! But it was so cool (: (:

P/s : I climbed all 3 walls! :DD *gloats* Even though after that I was numb like crazy xD SO WORTH IT! (:

And this is Pui Yi and I! (: In the toilet I think :/ Cause we were too lazy to go out into the cold ):

Would definitely love to rant more, but I think it's better if I forget it than dwell in it :/

HEY HEY! What's Beethoven's favorite fruit? :O

ANYWAYSSS! I received a parcel from home 3 days ago! (: (: (:

Yayyy! :DD It seemed pretty big so I was so excited! Nah, I knew what was coming :P Told me mum to pack it for me in the first place :P Haha!

I never knew they had RM10 stamps!! :O RM5 seems reasonable but RM10 WOW! :O

Hair pills!! :DDD YAY :D Finally! No more dry frizzy hair (':
You must be wondering whats that white piece of thing? It's toilet paper.

My mum thought I might miss Malaysia's toilet paper, so she stuffed some into the box.

Kidding! :P She said it might not pass the border in case the authorities think it's drugs -__- Quite true, since there's a little malay on it, they might misunderstand :/

YAY! (: little capsules of joy and HAIR REJUVINATION D:

PSSST : Answer to the previous question,

BANANANAAAAAAAAAAA :PPPPP
