Expectations and Disappointments

MERRY CHRISTMAS MY CUTIE PATOOTIES :)

I have been really lazy on updates and I had too many photos to upload if I wanted to blog, so I think I'd update you, starting from Christmas day! :) Every other day between Christmas and October, I was kidnapped by highly trained ninjas from the Himalayas and forced to be their dancing midget.

SO! Christmas! :) Christmas morning was pretty sad, because instead of waking up to beautiful white snow, we woke up to hail. HAIL. As in hail STONES. Hail is basically, tiny pieces of ice, falling from the sky. I'm thankful they weren't the size of ice-cream trucks, but they still hurt. So, plans for Sunday mass was cancelled because I didn't wanna die from either slipping and falling, or getting hit in the eye, and slipping and falling.

After procrastinating my "rolling out of bed" session, I went downstairs and greeted my hosts and the little kids :) Little 9-yo- James was super excited he ran up to me and said,

"LOOK WHAT SANTA GAVE ME!"

"What?"

"Call of Duty Black OPS 2!"

"I guess Santa must be a very modern guy"

Then during mid-day, I went to Chai and Yang's place to slack till our hotpot session at night! :) It was a really simple gathering, but I really enjoyed myself :) We just sat round talking about our high school life, the good, the bad and the retarded. Then later we made use of the last packet of agar at their place and made MORE orange jelly! :D (I really don't know whether they genuinely like the jelly, or they don't wanna hurt my feelings so they tell me that the jelly tastes good)

Lol, we improvised for this jelly cause the orange peel had a hole in it so the jelly was leaking into the bottom of the cup ._.

Finished product, TA-DAAAA *again*

This jelly was special :) Cause Yang didn't wanna dice it, so he sliced it and placed it perfectly in the jelly mould :) Ain't it pretty!

Hot pot was awesome, and a successful one too :) Minus the part where the oil splattered on people's faces because the sizzling pan on top was too hot :P

We were all sitting round the table, awaiting our painful yet unexpected death.

Overall it was a huge success :) Minus the part where we had too many tao foo pok that we couldn't finish :( sniff. Always remember people, the greatest feeling in the world is not love. The greatest feeling in the world, is biting a tao foo pok drenched in curry, and have the curry slowly and beautifully burst in your mouth. It's like the feeling of a thousand butterflies, in one release. Because, love will always leave you, but the oil from the curry, will forever be in your arteries :)

Have a blessed Christmas :)

Autumn :)

At the start of the week, it was foggy for about 3 days. It made it much more colder and darker in the mornings, it was so hard to get out of bed and walk to college :( But after Wednesday the fog cleared and the weather was so lovely :) Slight wind, as the leaves drift about as though unwilling to fall to the ground, ohhh it was soooo pretty! For the first time in a long time, I actually ENJOYED walking to college!

BUT! If you're like my friend, who's currently studying in Bristol, because he cycles to college, the wind blows against his eyes forcing him to squint, and he has to constantly bear with the on coming flying leaves that hit his face as he cycles :P HAHA! Poor thing!

So yeah, just wanted to upload a couple of photos of England in the autumn! :)

Photos courtesy of Mr. Julius Ting :P I WOULD take a photo of the spiderwebs with the condensed fog myself, but I was running late for the bus :( So THANKS JU! :)

Don't they look awesome?! Look at the little droplets of water in the first photo! Couple of weeks ago was the spider's mating season. They were all getting in onnn with the ladiess ;) And there was SO MANY spiderwebs round. And yea, I walked into a couple without noticing until I got home :x Wonder whether I disturbed their sexy time

This was taken on Wednesday while I was walking down from college cause I had a half dayyyy :) The hill might not look steep here, but TRUST ME. For a person with short legs, its hell of a hike up -_- Owhh, love how the leaves are orangey-brown :) Like the faded strands of my hair -__-"
This tree was amazingly light yellow and pink! It's so so gorgeous! (':

I LOVE AUTUMN, BEST. SEASON. EVER!! I wish it could stay this way forever :(

Lonely movie nights

Yesterday I was SO BORED. Came home, had no homework and Wednesday(today) is the only day I don't have test periods, so I didn't have to study (:P), andd, I was feeling a bit down and lonely :/ So I decided to watch a sad romantic movies to kill time :/

Couldn't think of any, I even googled "Sad movies to watch after a break-up" -_- And even though I'm not recently broken-up, I just wanted something to trigger my emotions, cause well, I felt sad :( Everything that came up in the lists were all so "meh" So I decided to pick my own movie. THEN! I remembered Blink 182's "I Miss You" where it goes something like
We could live like Jack and Sally if we want,
Where you can always find me,
We'll have Halloween on Christmas

SOOOO, it inspired me to watch Nightmare before Christmas! :) I thought like, HEY! Sounds like a very eerie, creepy, love story, why not?

WRONG! It was not romantic at all, 90% of the time "Jack" was trying to be the main character, finding the "good feeling" inside of him and finding another purpose in life. And Sally is this sad, creepy looking rag doll creature who cares for Jack, a LOT. Like a little fan girl. So yeah.

Then towards the end, he finally realizes that Sally's his "good feeling" he's looking for. And what, that lasted 30 seconds. Then the credits start to roll. -__- Super potong wei. seriously.

The story line felt so genuine and original, but it wasn't what I was looking for :/ I still prefer Tim Burton's Corpse Bride to this though. Even though Corpse Bride was a bitttt creepy. But there's still something hauntingly beautiful about Emily :) I think I've said this before ._. De javu whoaa :/

OKAY! So the movie for tonight is,

I hope it's good! Otherwise, see me ranting tomorrow about it :P Goodnight!

I like trains

Played with electrical trains with the boys after dinner :) And I was so amazed! Cause when they asked me to play with trains, I thought we were just gonna sit on the floor and pretend we were conductors and stuff :/

Turns out it was trains that run on electrical tracks!! It was SO COOL! Maybe cause I've never seen it before, and, or I'm easily amused :P

I only took a few pictures cause I was too busy playing :x

Powered with knobs, that goes Forward and Reverse :P

Thomas the tank! :) The boys' favourite cartoon when they were kids :) William's current favourite!!

James' super antiquey train which he claims is the fastest amongst the rest! :PP

Here's a short video to show you how awesome the trains were!! :) And how fast they moved! This is just low-medium speed though :/ And the classical music in the background was not intentional! Though it really fits the scenario! hahaha :)

Another video to show you Thomas the tank! :) Sorry the video is so small D: I had to flip it with iMovie and it somehow shrunk after I uploaded it :(

NOTE : LOOK AT WILLIAM'S EXPRESSION WHEN HE SEES THE TRAINS MOVE :P
SO ADORABALLSSSSS :)

Electric train sets, so English :P

Bunsen burners and braids

Today for chemistry we were told to braid our hair. Yup. BRAID. OUR. HAIR.

Cause we were gonna do an experiment involving the Bunsen burner so our teacher (p/s: she's Indian) made all the girls braid their hair -___- Which in my opinion, did not make sense, cause the seniors didn't have to braid their hair during their practical! Why must we?! D: And its not like its that easy to burn our own hair unless we were "whipping our hair back and forth"

One of my friends even said "OMG! She's turning you guys Indian" HAHAHA

So last night, the day before the practical, I spent around 45 minutes learning how to do a French braid )': Cause my hair is not long enough to pull it to the side for a normal braid *whines* AAAND, after going through countless of YouTube tutorials and turning and twisting to find the right angle in front of the mirror, I finally succeeded, ONCE. The next morning, was in a rush, forgot what to do, screwed it up -__- So it just ended up looking like a wannabe French braid )':

Andddd, it kept falling apart and hair was flying everywhere cause my hair is still too short *grumbles* Butttt, made the best of it and made sure my *once pink hair* was visible!

Stubs of hair sticking out :(

SEE! My hair is no longer pink no more DDD': Its just some funny orange-brown colour. And the colour looks so unhealthy! So gonna re-do my hair during half term!! :) :) And and, my face is getting worse! LOOK! The redness is more intense, and you can literally take a whiteboard marker play "join the dots" with my pimples.

I WANT A SMOOTH COMPLEXION SO BADLY )': Been trying everything and nothing seems to work for me. And it really upsets me to wake up and look into the mirror and see pimples having a fiesta on my face

Orange jelly project! :) :)

Last week we had a small get-together at Chai and Yang's place during the Mooncake Festival :) And Pui Yi wanted to make jelly for everyone! But we didn't have a place to store the jelly, like a jelly mould. So I suggested we use orange peels! Since I got the idea from 9GAG a couple of days ago and wanted to try it out :/ And it was a total success!

Picture below was the photo from 9GAG k :P

We didn't use coloring, so our jelly was all transparent :P Less talk, more photos! :)

We had a huge problem when we started pouring the agar into the orange peels, cause they kept toppling due to the round BOTTOM :( Sooo, we quickly gathered everything that could sit the orange butts in :P Cups, mugs, bowls, plates etc :)

After a few hours.. :)

IT WORKED!! :) :) CUTE RIGHT!

Me and Re Gin with our jelly with fruits in em!

See how it comes off so perfectly! :)

Mission accomplished! :)

Super cute 9GAG post that I found and had to share :)
You give me the fuzzles :3 but sometimes I wish I could do more than just miss you every night :( How I wished things turned out differently, but for now, I just wish the days and months would pass quicker, so I can see you once again :)

Mini China Town :)

HELLO!

Went to Wing Yip (A Chinese supermarket in Croydon) with Pui Yi, Chai, Yang and Feng today! After being here for around 7 months, today was my first day there. Pathetic huh -__-

So today I had to meet em up at 12pm, so I decided to not set an alarm, so I could sleep in :) But scumbag brain decided to wake me up at freaking 6 am, reply whatsapp messages, roll in bed till 9, then decide that I should just go get ready instead -_- stupid. stupid. stupid. *grumbles*

Went for a Japanese lunch, did some stationery shopping, then headed off to Wing Yip! :)

Me and Pui Yi! :) She says we look alike in this picture! :S

Went in to Wing Yip, and was super suaku wei! Saw SO many good food that I have missed for the past 7 months, ALL HERE?! Okay, maybe not ALL, but, most of them! :( And I felt so disappointed! Like, why haven't I found this place sooner! :( But I didn't miss Asian food that badly, but whenever I do, I'd just force myself not to think about it, then I'll be fine again :)

..... BUT NOT ANYMORE! NO WAY AM I SUPPRESSING MY FEELINGS ANY LONGER! MY TASTE BUDS DESERVE TO BE SATISFIED!

Heeee! *waves imaginary Malaysian flag in hand*
*feels awkward and sudden burst of patriotism*

The only thing that stood out in the "Malaysian" section
Gold, pure gold (':

Saw a lot of classic "Asian" food, Pocky, Hello Panda, that Japanese salty flaky thing you put on rice, THEY HAD EVERYTHINGGGGG *echoes*

I saw Hup Tou Sou too! But I didn't wanna get it cause I like warm ones D: And I'm too lazy to microwave it all the time. So I bought just one piece from the bakery! :D

Serving suggestion? Bitch please, I'd eat em all in one go, don't tell me what to do!

While waiting for the bus :3

Came back at night and saw this waiting at the stairs for me! HEH! My host helped me get this from those big retail stores :3

Hello fats, my dear, reoccurring friend ):

Oh! And I also did a little shopping and got myself this!

Sah Keh Mah?

Though after buying it, Pui Yi told me it wasn't that good :( So I was pretty disappointed. But then again, it wasn't TOO expensive so like, what the heck :/

Tried a piece anddddd, conclusion is.. it kinda sucks.

Oh well! At least they're like mini cakes I can warf down if I'm running late :)

CHRYSANTHEMUM TEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. :'DDD oh how've I missed you my dear friend! (': One's missing cause I gave one to Pui Yi :3

LAST BUT NOT LEAST,

Goodbye hair and chances of living to an old ripe age! D: Oh, and my new fluffy pajama bottom :3 HEEEHEE! Will upload a photo of it later in the week!

That's it for me today! Tomorrow's gonna be super super awesome, so, come back tomorrow! :DD

Trinh's hairband

HELLO FELLOW BLOG READERS :3
P/s : that's happy me going awwww, thanking you guys for reading visiting blog while strategically trying to hide my huge ass pimple. No worries, you'll get to see him soon :) And by him, I mean my pimple.

This is probably the first time I've taken a photo of what I'm wearing/wore to college cause today I decided I don't wanna dress like a hobo for the remaining of the year. So yea, cheers to the less hobo amanda! :) Let's see how long I'd be able to keep it up k .__. I'd give it 2 more weeks.

So today I decided to be a bit more girly girl and NOT wear a hoodie or a T-shirt like I usually do, to college, and maybe try out the new hairband Trinh gave me!

Adorable eh? Well too bad I'm probably not gonna wear it till my hair grows back. Before I came over to UK in September, my hairdresser layered my hair kao kao -_-, I could even feel stubs sticking out from the bottom layers of my hair near the scalp. And it STILL looks poofy, but it's really thin now, and whenever I wear a slightly harder hairband, it hurts. And this is bloody painful )': During class, I had to slip the hairband down to my neck and make it look like I'm wearing a ribbon collar cause it hurt so bad :x

I felt my head physically shrink after wearing the hairband of doom ._. I will wear it again! But probably when my hair grows back :) Thanks Trinh!! For getting this super cute hairband for me :) I honestly love it, but it hurts. Well as they say, what you love most, would hurt you D:

Anywaysss, had a super vain pot moment this morning while waiting for the bus, and I never knew the hairband would hurt so much, so.. note, this was taken, BEFORE I knew the hairband was trying to kill me.

And I was wondering why my eyes were so dark today ._. But when I came home I had sunken eyes again ): So I guess it was just the lighting *sobs in disappointment*

Okay! I'm off to do my homework now!

Amanda out!
